What Each Image Tool Does

Detailed explanation of each tool and when to use it.

📦

Image Compressor

Open →

Reduce image file size by 60–90% while maintaining visual quality. Large images slow down websites and consume mobile data. Our compressor uses smart quality optimization to find the smallest file size that still looks great. You control the quality level — low compression keeps maximum quality, high compression achieves the smallest possible file. Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, and BMP files up to 50 MB.

  • Compress photos before uploading to a website
  • Reduce image sizes for faster email delivery
  • Shrink product photos for e-commerce stores
📐

Image Resizer

Open →

Resize any image to exact pixel dimensions with an optional aspect ratio lock. Enter custom width and height, or choose from common presets: HD (1280×720), Full HD (1920×1080), Square (1:1), or Thumbnail (300×300). Toggle the padlock icon to maintain proportions automatically — change the width and the height updates itself. Supports all common image formats including JPG, PNG, WebP, and BMP. Both upscaling and downscaling are supported with Lanczos resampling for sharpest results.

  • Resize product images to consistent dimensions
  • Create social media images at exact platform sizes
  • Downscale 4K images for web use
🔄

WebP Converter

Open →

Convert JPG, PNG, and BMP images to WebP format — the modern image format for the web. WebP images are 25–35% smaller than JPEG and 20–40% smaller than PNG at equivalent visual quality, while supporting full transparency. All modern browsers support WebP, making it the best choice for website images in 2026. Set a quality level between 1–100 (85 is the recommended default for a great size/quality balance).

  • Convert website images to WebP to improve page speed
  • Replace PNG logos with smaller WebP equivalents
  • Batch convert product photo libraries to WebP

JPG to PNG Converter

Open →

Convert JPEG images to PNG format to gain transparency support and lossless quality. JPEG doesn't support transparent backgrounds — if you need to remove the background from a JPG image, first convert it to PNG (which supports alpha transparency). PNG is also the better format for screenshots, diagrams, and text-heavy images where JPEG's compression artifacts would blur text. Converted PNGs are larger than JPGs but retain perfect quality.

  • Convert JPG product photos to PNG for background removal
  • Convert screenshots from JPG to crisp PNG
  • Preserve quality for images you'll edit multiple times
✂️

Background Remover

Open →

Remove image backgrounds automatically using AI-powered color detection. Upload a PNG or JPG image and get a PNG with a transparent background back. Works best on images with clear subject-background contrast — product photos on plain backgrounds, portraits, and images with distinct foreground objects. The transparent PNG can be placed on any color or pattern background, used in presentations, or layered in design software.

  • Remove white backgrounds from product photos
  • Create transparent logo files from opaque images
  • Isolate subjects from photos for use in designs
🔲

Image Cropper

Open →

Crop images to any region using preset aspect ratios or exact pixel coordinates. Click a preset button (1:1 Square, 4:3 Standard, 16:9 Widescreen, 3:4 Portrait, 9:16 Vertical) to instantly set a centered crop region in that ratio. Or enter exact X, Y, Width, and Height values in pixels for precise control. The tool validates that your crop region fits within the image before processing. Output format matches the input.

  • Crop photos to 1:1 for Instagram posts
  • Create 16:9 thumbnails from landscape photos
  • Remove borders or unwanted edges from scanned images
🔍

Image Metadata Viewer

Open →

View all EXIF metadata embedded in your photos — camera model, lens, exposure settings, ISO, and GPS coordinates. JPEG photos from digital cameras and smartphones contain dozens of metadata fields recorded at capture time. If GPS was enabled on the camera, the exact latitude and longitude will be shown with a Google Maps link. Export all metadata as JSON for technical use. No data is stored — metadata is extracted and returned to your browser immediately.

  • Check if a photo contains GPS location data before sharing
  • Verify camera settings used for a specific shot
  • Audit photos for metadata before publishing online

Favicon Generator

Open →

Generate all favicon sizes you need for a website from a single image. Upload your logo or icon and get a ZIP file containing PNG files at 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, 64×64, 128×128, 192×192, and 512×512 pixels, plus a multi-resolution favicon.ico file containing the four smallest sizes (16, 32, 48, 64px) in a single file. The 192×192 PNG is used for Android home screen icons and the 512×512 for Progressive Web App splash screens.

  • Generate all favicon files for a new website
  • Create Android home screen icons for a PWA
  • Update favicon sizes when redesigning a site

Frequently Asked Questions

What image formats are supported?
All tools support the most common image formats: JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP, and BMP. Some tools also support GIF, TIFF, and HEIC depending on the specific tool. Files up to 50 MB are supported.
Do the tools process images on the server or in the browser?
Most image tools process on our server for higher quality output and better format support. Image Metadata Viewer, JPG to PNG, and WebP Converter can also leverage browser-based processing. Files are deleted from our server immediately after you download the result.
Will image quality be lost during conversion?
Converting from lossless (PNG) to lossy (JPEG, WebP) will reduce quality slightly. Converting between two lossy formats (JPEG to WebP) will cause some quality loss. Converting from lossy to lossless (JPEG to PNG) preserves the existing quality but doesn't add back lost detail. We use high quality settings to minimize any quality degradation.
What is the best format for website images?
WebP is the best choice for website images in 2026 — it's 25–35% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality and supports transparency. Use PNG for screenshots and graphics with text. Use JPEG for photos when WebP is not supported. Use SVG for logos and icons when possible.
Is there a limit on how many images I can process?
There is no daily or monthly limit. You can process as many images as you need. Each image is processed individually — we don't currently support batch processing of multiple images at once.
Can I remove EXIF data to protect my privacy?
Our Image Metadata Viewer shows you what EXIF data is in your image. To remove EXIF data, use your OS's built-in tools (Windows: right-click → Properties → Details → Remove Properties; Mac: Export from Preview) or photo editing software like Photoshop.
How do I add a favicon to my website?
Place the generated favicon.ico file in your website's root directory. Then add link tags to your HTML head: <link rel='icon' href='/favicon.ico'> for the ICO and <link rel='apple-touch-icon' sizes='192x192' href='/favicon-192x192.png'> for the PNG sizes. Download our generated ZIP which includes an HTML snippet you can copy-paste.
Why does background removal not work perfectly on my image?
Our Background Remover uses color-detection algorithms rather than AI segmentation. It works best on images with a plain, uniform background (white, single color) and clear contrast with the subject. Complex backgrounds, shadows, and subjects with similar colors to the background will give imperfect results. For professional background removal, consider AI tools like Remove.bg.
